Cirrus Asset Management was founded by Steve Heimler for the purpose to acquire, reposition and operate multifamily and hospitality assets in California, Arizona and Hawaii. Prior to Cirrus, in 1989, Steve founded Stratus Management, which through its many mergers and acquisitions, became known as Stratus Real Estate, Inc. Stratus became the second largest apartment property manager in 2007. Stratus has since been regarded as the premier regional third-party property management firm specializing in the management and repositioning of multifamily assets. The team includes nearly 1,000 associates managing a portfolio of over 23,000 apartments at 215 properties throughout California, Arizona and Hawaii.
The team at Cirrus Asset Management, Inc. was formed by assembling the outstanding performers from each critical department of Stratus Management. With the newly created team, Cirrus focused efforts toward the 'owned porfoltio' while continuing to engage in consulting services for third party clients. The veteran management team at Cirrus brings extensive experience in property acquisitions, property operations, construction management, accounting, financial engineering, and dispositions.

Currently, Cirrus manages and asset manages a portfolio valued at over $1,000,000,000. Cirrus is currently responsible for the asset management of over 3,500 apartments in four states and directly manages an additional 3,500 apartments in California, Arizona and Hawaii.
